While preparing for a show in the Middle East I thought it unfair to be irreverent to selective traditions while remaining totally respectful of others, as I thoroughly believe in absolute discussion and reshuffling of cultures. I began experimenting with the idea of the seamless pattern, or a continuous design engulfing the surface, much alike Islamic tradition.

Although, I am fundamentally opposed to censorship and religious impositions on society, therefore I decided to add an anarchic twist to the tradition and, in the footprints of Lucio Fontana I slashed the metal, allowing for a gap, a portal of sort.

This new third dimension offers multiple interpretations, space for space ‘s sake, the addition of color and contrast, or…female genitalia; to each their own interpretation.
